Guest Speaker - Coach Terry M. Smith
Coach Smith is currently the Assistant Football Head Coach, Defensive Recruiting Coordinator, and Cornerbacks Coach at Penn State University. Coach Smith’s hometown is Monroeville, Pennsylvania where he was a standout player at Gateway High School near Pittsburgh, PA. Coach Smith attended Penn State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He also played football under Coach Joe Paterno from 1987 to 1991 as a wide receiver. After a year in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, and four years in the Canadian Football League, Coach Smith began his coaching career at the High School level. From 2002 to 2012 Smith coached at his high school alma mater, Gateway High School, as the Head Coach and also served as the Athletic Director. In 2013 he moved on to coach the wide receivers at Temple University. In 2014 Coach Smith made his return to Penn State to become the Cornerbacks Coach and Defensive Recruiting Coordinator and after the 2015 season Assistant Head Coach was added to his title on the Coach Staff.
