Penn State Stars at the Franklin Institute on Feb 23, 6-8 pm
****Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Contact Donna Doerr dld7@psu.edu or 814-865-0511. ****Payment can be mailed to Penn State Stars, 430 Thomas Building, University Park, PA 16802.****Alumni Association members and their guests come for $35 each; non-members $45.

The night sky has inspired curiosity and wonder from the dawn of man and seeking to understand it is the very genesis of modern science. In this program we will feature contributions made by Penn State Astronomers at a level all can enjoy.

Hobby-Eberly Telescope at the McDonald Observatory
7:25 Planetarium Show to set stage for PSU presentations
7:45 Gamma Ray Bursts in the near and far Universe: John Nousek,
Director of the Swift Operations Center, Senior Scientist,
Professor and part of Penn State?s High Energy Astrophysics Group
