| Event Details or Article Text: Skate my Patria is a continuation of the Skate my Patria exhibit that took place in the 10th Havana Biennial in Cuba (March-April 2009). Greatly influenced by and drawing from such visual elements as vernacular graffiti art, Maldonado identifies progressive graphic design infused in the cultures of punk rock, hip-hop and skateboarding. Sofia ’s revolutionary work juxtaposes found elements of youth culture with her paintings making art that maintains a dialog between the young consumer and the actual mass production market |
