Event Details or Article Text: This Fundraiser Event is a joint effort with the Los Angeles and Orange County Chapters. All proceeds will go toward each Chapter’s Scholarship Program. Penn State Alumni ….Getting to know the Grape! Swirl, Smell, Sip and Spit Tour November 20 – 22, 2009 Join Penn State Alumni and Friends for a trip to Paso Robles, California’s central coast wine region. Our journey begins Friday afternoon as we head north through Camarillo and enjoy dinner at the Madonna Inn, a California landmark, before reaching our hotel. Saturday we’ll all watch Penn State beat Michigan State at a TV party. Afterwards, we’ll visit two area wineries for tastings. Saturday evening’s unique dining experience is at the Eberle wine caves. Gary Eberle is a PSU alum. On Sunday we’ll make another winery stop before lunch in Solvang, a charming Danish village. Cost per Chapter Member is $450.00. Non Chapter members pay $475.00. Rate is per person based on two sharing a room. (Limited single rooms available at $159.00 additional). Two convenient departure points in Fountain Valley and LAX. INCLUSIONS: Two nights Paso Robles Courtyard by Marriott hotel and tax based on 2 people sharing the room, Friday evening dinner at the Madonna Inn, two hot buffet breakfasts, 4 Wine Tastings , BBQ dinner with wine Saturday night at the Eberle wine caves, tips to driver, lots of laughs and a few surprises. Free parking for Fountain Valley departure. NOT INCLUDED: Lunch in Solvang, PSU vs. Michigan State game food, drink and raffle tickets, wine with Friday dinner, Special Event Tee Shirt (price TBA.) Lot C Parking fee at LAX. Travel insurance is optional but highly recommended, and details will be sent to all participants. Space is limited. First paid deposits ($100.00 plus $50.00 non-refundable program fee) will guarantee your weekend space. Balance payment will be due September 15, 2009. No refunds after October 1. Consider Travel Protection. Name substitutions will be accepted. The daytime winery itinerary on Saturday and Sunday is subject to change due to the Michigan State game time. You must be at least 21 years old to participate. The Courtyard Hotel has a smoke-free policy.
